Melissa was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1982 and went on to attend college at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in 1986 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Along with painting and area art happenings, Melissa is keenly interested in craniosacral therapy, hiking and traveling to mid atlantic and southern locations to sketch on plein air excursions.
